From survival mode to a stable base
This is the new 50m² community center in Kayamandi, South Africa.
In Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, South Africa, more and more people are arriving looking for opportunities and a better life. Some of them are young women with small children. They gather for a workshop at Her Voice, an organization that provides practical knowledge, help and personal guidance to underprivileged, young women.
What started as a bi-weekly meeting to support women on their way to independence is now a growing organization. What Her Voice needs is a shared space that can serve as workshop location and transition home.
"It is our dream to have a house or piece of land where we can offer more young women a safe place, so that they can come out of survival mode and concentrate on their future. With habi-nex homes we can make this happen." - Alexandra Nomavuka, founder Her Voice
Habi-nex homes are specifically designed to help people in vulnerable communities. They are made of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and therefore durable and easy to build. They have the versatility to be both a permanent or a temporary structure. This makes them very suitable as a community building or a private home.
Habi-nex provides dignified housing in areas where it is badly needed. Contact us to discover the possibilities.
